Living with ‘Every Day’ Pain
As we all age, most of us want to enjoy an active and pain free life as much as possible. Many of us enjoy the increased health benefits by being active and we also enjoy the social connections we make. For me personally, my weekend mountain bike rides are
all about exercise, friendship and staying social.
In 2018, I had severe elbow pain that was linked to a disc issue in my neck. The disc was irritating a nerve, causing my elbow pain. I went to the ER twice in one month and had a MRI. I wasn’t able to mountain bike for over 3 months. Not only was this hard from a health/pain perspective but I also missed out seeing my biking friends and the social time together. It was scary to think that possibly I would not ride again, but I might also miss out on social interactions. That was not a great feeling!
You might not ride or do other super strenuous activities, but you might want to be able to walk in your neighborhood, play with your grandchildren at the park, play pickle ball, hike our local mountains, or play a musical instrument. Missing out doing any activity
you enjoy should not have to be an option. These are the things that bring us happiness.
Pain stops us from being able to do those things that make us smile. I understand how frustrating that can be. But what if there was something that could help you reduce or eliminate that pain. Would that put a smile back on your face?
Acupuncture is a most amazing tool to help eliminate pain. I am a certified Sports Medicine Registered Acupuncturist and kinesiologist who helps people live a pain free and active life by restoring muscle balance and joint function. You could feel better today to enjoy a better tomorrow and many more tomorrows.
